A Caribbean ChristmasA Caribbean Christmas is a fun, change-of-pace, get-away-from-it-all, holiday show. From the first burst of rhythmic energy, the audience is transported to the tropical West Indies. Jamaica Bob and Jazz Caribe serve up a spicy blend of calypso, reggae, jazz and Latin grooves. Jazz Caribe infuses these rhythms into familiar European carols to create unique, festive and interactive arrangements. A Caribbean Christmas also showcases the West Indian perspective on the season of Noel as well as traditional melodies heard throughout the islands during this time of year. Musical Appreciation A Caribbean Christmas pays tribute to some of the great calypsonians and well-known calypso singers whose melodies have left an indelible mark on the West Indian holiday experience. These artists included the Mighty Sparrow, Roaring Lion and, of course, Harry Belafonte, whose arrangements of "Mary's Boy Child" and "Virgin Mary" have been touching lives for 50 years. Bring the Whole Family A Caribbean Christmas is very family-friendly with participation opportunities for all ages. A Few More Details A Caribbean Christmas is available frfom the third week of November to the week of Christmas.
